Iron Infusion

Iron infusions are usually used to treat iron deficiency anaemia. This deficiency is typically treated with dietary changes and iron supplements, but in some cases, your GP might recommend iron infusions instead. If you are visiting our practice for an iron infusion you can view our preparation instructions below.

Initial Consultation
An initial consultation is not required if you have obtained a referral letter from your usual GP. Please advise our friendly reception staff which pathology company provided your most recent pathology tests so that we can download your results for our doctor to review prior to your infusion.

Arrival
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time at the medical centre. This allows us the opportunity to ensure we have all of your correct details.

We recommend purchasing the iron vial/s (Ferinject) 1-2 days prior to the appointment or if you are planning to purchase it from Priceline Pharmacy in South City Square on the day of the appointment, please phone Priceline ahead of time to confirm availability and collect it before your appointment time.
